Microsoft Announce Microsoft Surface Computing

Dubbed as the technology that will change the way we live, and it’s not too far away, Microsoft Surface Computing is a new technology based around the surface (i.e. surface of a table) of an object. I have just finished watching the Microsoft Surface Computing demo on the Microsoft website and it will totally revolutionize the way we interact with a PC and other people in the future. This technology is totally awesome.

Just imagine a large LCD screen that is a table, objects (Photos, Movies, Games) displayed on the screen are totally interactive can be moved around the surface by people sitting around the table, it’s a hard concept to explain and best that you just head over to the Microsoft Surface Computing website found: here

Microsoft Reports Record Profits

On the back of Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007 Microsoft have reported record profits with a 72% growth in earnings per share.

The Microsoft press release went on to say

"Revenue of $14.40 billion for the quarter ended March 31, 2007, a 32% increase over the same period of the prior year. This revenue drove record profits with operating income of $6.59 billion and net income of $4.93 billion. Diluted earnings per share for the quarter grew 72% to $0.50, and included $0.02 in tax benefits and $0.01 in legal charges.

These results reflect $1.67 billion of revenue and operating income, $1.14 billion of net income and $0.12 of diluted earnings per share that were previously deferred primarily related to the technology guarantee programs for Windows Vista™ and the 2007 Microsoft® Office release. "
